The Model 1345 is equipped with the following security and safety features afforded by LiftMaster:
The Protector System® safety features offer security for consumers as they prevent unintentional closing of the garage door. This is possible as a safety sensor emits an invisible infrared beam of light across the bottom of garage door opening.
Any interruption on the steady infrared light will automatically reverse the door motion as it is going down. A light will automatically turn on when the infrared beam is broken. In addition to the infrared sensors, the opener also features sensing technology to stop the door from closing if the door comes in contact with an object or a person.
Unauthorized entry or use of remote control security code is also protected under LiftMaster's Security+® rolling code technology. The program sends out a new code each time the remote control is used.
Security is further enhanced with PosiLock® anti-theft protection. The PosiLock feature ensures that once the garage door is closed, it stays locked.
In case of power failure, the LiftMaster Model 1345 can be manually operated as with all other models of LiftMaster garage door openers.
Out of 6 reviews on the Liftmaster.com site, the Model 1345 has a rating of only 2 out of 5 stars. While Liftmaster technical support is excellent and the dealer network is capable and extensive, spending a few more dollars may make more sense in the long run.
For light weight single garage doors, the Model 1345 may well be adequate to suit your needs. However, if you have an insulated garage door or any size or type of double car garage door, save the anxiety and move up to at least a 1/2 HP model like the Liftmaster 1355.
The LiftMaster brand is great and you are encouraged to compare Lift Master garage door openers before deciding on a purchase. There is nothing worse than a garage door opener that is underpowered for the job it must do.
