Learn about this 1/3 HP Chain Drive Garage Door Opener

Even though it only has a 1/3 HP motor, the Liftmaster 3245 has an industrial strength chain drive and it performs very well. As a contractor grade garage door opener, the Model 3255 is part of Liftmaster's "value" line, often used by contractors on new homes. There are 4 chain drive contractor models from which to choose.

In many cases, builders will install cheap appliances and home accessories to save a buck on construction and make a buck on profit. Garage door openers are often in this category of "cheapest" fare.

While the Liftmaster Model 3245 does reside near the bottom of the "contractor grade" lineup, it performs well for a 1/3 HP model. If you don't want lots of included accessories and you don't have a heavy garage door, this model is worth a look. Consult with your Liftmaster dealer to be sure.

There are 3 other garage door openers in Liftmaster's Contractor Series you may want to compare and consider, they are: Liftmaster Model 1345, Liftmaster 1355 and Liftmaster 3255. The main differences are horsepower and warranty.

Liftmaster 3245 - Safety, Security and Warranty

The Liftmaster 3245 comes with all of Chamberlain's safety and security features, including:

The Protector System - Model 3245 includes Protector System® safety sensors which emit an invisible beam of light on the garage door opening. Sensing technology will stop and reverse the garage door if the beam is broken by a person, pet or object. The opener's light turns on automatically when The Protector System's infrared beam is broken. If you walk in through an open garage door, the light comes on.

PosiLock® - The Liftmaster Model 3245 has the standard, patented PosiLock® which automatically locks the garage door once it is down. To engage this feature, you simple push the "Lock" button on the control panel and all remote signals are locked out.

Rolling Code Technology - As with all Liftmaster models, the 3245 comes with Liftmaster's Security+® rolling code technology which means a new code is sent every time you use your garage door remote. You can buy extra garage door remotes or multi-function remotes to use with this model.

100 Watts of Light - The Model 3245 includes 100 watts of adjustable time delay light (1 Bulb). Remember, if you plan to do anything other than park your cars in the garage, you should consider accessory garage lighting to suit your specific needs.
