Although you can program the 1 Button garage door remote to control other house lights and appliances, without only 1 button you will likely be using it to open the garage door.

Garage Door Opener
The Model 1355 is equipped with the following security and safety features afforded by LiftMaster:
The Protector System® - Infrared garage door sensors and door sensing technology offer safety for consumers as they prevent the garage door from closing unintentionally. The garage door sensors shine an invisible infrared light beam across the bottom of garage door opening and will automatically reverse and reopen the garage door if the steady light is broken. This is the most common safety feature among modern garage door openers since 1993.
In addition to infrared garage door sensors, the Model 1355 also features sensing technology to stop the door from closing if the door comes in contact with an object (box, pet, etc.) or a person.
Rolling Code Garage Door Remote - Unauthorized entry or use of the garage door remote security code is also protected by LiftMaster's Security+® rolling code technology. The program sends out a new code each time the remote control is used.
PosiLock® Door Lock - Security is further enhanced with PosiLock® anti-theft protection. The PosiLock feature ensures that once the garage door is closed, it stays locked.
Manual Door Release - In case of power failure, the LiftMaster 1355 can be manually operated as with all other models of LiftMaster garage door openers.
Although there are only 2 reviews on the Liftmaster.com site, the Model 1355 received a perfect 5 out of 5 stars from both reviewers. Adding a little more horsepower to the nearly identical but poorly rated Liftmaster Model 1345 makes a big difference in performance and in owner satisfaction
For light and medium weight 1 and 2 car garage doors, the Model 1355 may suit your needs very well. Just don't expect anything fancy.
If you have an insulated garage door or a heavier double car garage door, consider a 3/4 HP Liftmaster or Chamberlain garage door opener. If you don't know, Chamberlain is Liftmaster's parent company and the world's largest garage door opener manufacturer. Chamberlain sells an outstanding line of openers available through many retail outlets.
The LiftMaster brand is great and you are encouraged to compare Lift Master garage door openers before deciding on a purchase. There is nothing worse than a garage door opener that is underpowered for the job it must do.
