| Genie TriloG 1500 3/4 HP DC Garage Door Opener |
1 HP* 140 Volt DC motor - The quiet strength of the TriloG 1500 is adequate to open even the heaviest solid wooden garage doors or carriage house doors. Screw drive garage door openers are a great choice for very cold or very hot regions, and offer plenty of quiet performance and durability.
*HP = Horsepower strength. DC power is measured in Newtons, rather than Horsepower. The TriloG 1500's motor is about equal in power to a 1 HP AC motor.
Remote Controls - The TriloG 1500 uses Genie's Intellicode® 2 garage door remote encryption. Intellicode® 2 is Genie's most recent rolling code technology, providing security for homeowners by changing the access code after each use. This prevents "code grabbers" from accessing the code to your remote.
If you have an older Genie model, the Intellicode® 2 remotes are "backward compatible" with Intellicode® 1 remotes (the previous generation). This means they will work with new Genie garage door openers as well as older Intellicode models if they are programmed to do so.
Auto Seek Dual Frequency - This is a fancy way of saying the opener looks for and will respond to one of two frequency channels used by the garage door remote. This is sometimes called frequency hopping. For those who are interested in tech specs, Genie garage door remotes use the 315 MHz and 390 MHz frequencies.
What's the benefit? With so much wireless technology in use these days, the dual frequency system is designed to limit potential interference from other systems (primarily from communication at military bases; but, that's another story altogether).
Wall Console - Allowing you to conveniently operate the TriloG 1500 from inside the garage, this wall console has three features: An Open/Close button, a button to turn the opener light on and off, and a Sure-Lock™ button. The Sure-Lock™ security feature, often called a vacation lock, will not allow the opener to be activated by a garage door remote or even by the wall console.
Motion Detecting Light Control - Genie TriloG 1500 lighting consists of a 2 bulb lighting system supplying up to 200 Watts of light (2 - 100 Watt bulbs). This model also has a motion detector built into the power head (the part that mounts to the ceiling) that will automatically turn on the lights when the door is activated and off 4 minutes later.
The only potential downside to the motion detector is that it is activated when it detects body heat. Consequently, when the temperature in your garage is at or near body temperature (98.6 degrees Fahrenheit or 37 Celsius), the censor's range is reduced.
SmartSet™ Programming - Genie's SmartSet™ programming allows the homeowner to easily set and change almost anything using three clearly marked buttons and two LED indicator lights. From opening and closing speed to force (how much power is exerted) and limits (where the garage door stops when fully open or fully closed), it really is easy. You no longer have to use a screw driver to adjust a little screw and hope you get it right.
GenieSense™ Self-Diagnostic System - With Genie's introduction of DC powered systems, they have also added the GenieSense™ feature. GenieSense™ constantly monitors garage door operation, making adjustments "on the fly," including stopping the door if a change in normal door movement is detected or if the door comes in contact with any object. You can also set the minimum force needed to open and close the garage door using this system.
While this feature improves safety, it also helps put the TriloG 1500 in the quiet garage door opener category and extends the life of your garage door. Before the introduction of DC power, this type of system was not possible.
Safe-T-Beam® - The TriloG 1500's Safe-T-Beam® casts an infrared light beam across the garage door opening causing it to reverse upward should anything pass through the beam. The Safe-T-Beam must be installed to be able to close the door.
Warranty - Lifetime on the Motor and Screw Drive, 5 Years on Parts and 1 Year on Accessories
